High demands are made on the vehicle as a matter of fact in the construction business. To meet these demands and ensure a long service life for the Atego, high-quality, robust engineering is required:

  • powerful engines with a power output range of 90 kW to 205 kW (122 to 279 hp) and higher-than-average mileage
  • three different 6-speed transmissions and the 9-speed direct-drive transmission: precisely aligned with engine output to protect components and ensure a long service life
  • robust, single-reduction hypoid rear axles withstand high loads and ensure smooth and quiet running
  • effective corrosion protection thanks to cathodic dip priming. When attaching bodies and other equipment, the frame’s pre-drilled holes remove the necessity for further drilling, which could damage corrosion protection
  • extremely strong vehicle frame boasting an optimum ratio between load capacity and unladen weight
  • optional drive/brake speed control ensures an almost constant speed, which reduces the driver’s workload and saves on fuel
  • available as an option: front underride guard for the safety of other road users; anti-spray elements in the wings, which minimises spray formation on wet roads; and steel protective grilles for headlamps and tail lights
