On this day the VfB Stuttgart football team received its new team bus from Mercedes-Benz which was presented by Michael Göpfarth, Executive Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz Buses and Coaches of EvoBus GmbH. The official presentation took place in front of the Mercedes-Benz Museum and highlighted the strong partnership between the star brand and the VfB Stuttgart team.
"We are delighted that our partner and neighbour, the VfB Stuttgart team, can make use of this state-of-the-art touring coach", said Dr. Olaf Göttgens, Vice President of Brand Communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars. "We would like to wish the VfB a good and safe journey at all times." Armin Veh, the trainer of the VfB Stuttgart team, was also enthusiastic about the team’s new mode of transportation. "The new Travego gives us the opportunity to rest and relax during our travels. This is an important requirement for us as the team can then bring its best performance to the pitch."
The new Mercedes-Benz Travego is the continuation of a successful touring coach generation of the highest class. Its safety concept in this class is groundbreaking. In addition to the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and the acceleration skid control (ASR), it is also equipped with an Electronic Braking System (EBS), hydrodynamic retarder, continuous braking limiter (DBL), DISTRONIC, Lane Assistant (SPA) and a reversing aid with visual display in the exterior mirror and built-in reversing camera.
To keep the players relaxed during their travels the bus is equipped with 28 seats with leather upholstery and several club tables. It also has SAT-TV and a stereo system with additional CD and DVD changer and a total of four flat screens.
