Stuttgart, 25 June 2008 - Daimler AG commercial vehicles achieved the top ranking in five of the ten categories included in the twelfth readers’ awards of publisher ETM for "The Best 2008 Commercial Vehicles". Around 8500 readers participated in the voting this year to select their favourites out of 162 candidates.

In the urban bus category, Europe’s model for success was the winner: the Mercedes-Benz Citaro has broken all records with more than 20,000 regular-service buses in only ten years. In the ETM readers’ poll it was the top choice for the ninth time. The win in the midibus class this year was once again awarded to the Mercedes-Benz Tourino. The readers’ poll for "The Best 2008 Commercial Vehicles" was organised by the trade magazines "Fernfahrer“, "lastauto omnibus“ and "trans aktuell", all distributed in Stuttgart, working in cooperation with the engineers of Dekra AG.
